From the Bell’Arte Singers, Awake My Heart is a collection of contemporary Canadian music that is extraordinarily rich and engaging, from Eleanor Daley’s haunting Requiem to Eric Robertson’s stirring Psalm 67 with its powerful 32-foot organ pedals. It was recorded by Andrew Marshall using his new Omnispheric technique, which achieves an enveloping sense of space with only a pair of omnidirectional microphones, while preserving a sharply focused and deep soundstage.
Mastered to CD-R from data-grade DAT tapes, this CD maintains and even improves upon the quality of sound heard from previous Audio Ideas Recordings releases. This recording is compatible with both binaural and matrix surround systems, as well as normal stereo reproduction.
